Cesar Izturis has been sent packing from Chicago in a trade that should put him back to regular playing time with the Pirates. This seems like an obvious indication that Jack Wilson will be traded. I know the Jays were considering Wilson in the off-season, but they seem set with their infield these days. MLBTradeRumors recently pointed out that there are a few shortstops who could be on the move, but what isn't clear is who the buyers would be. The Red Sox might not be 100% happy with Lugo, but acquiring another shortstop would sure make their front office look bad for handing Lugo that 4-year contract in December. (Man, I need to hire Dan Lozano!)

UPDATE: I was surprised to read that the Jays had reportedly been in touch with the Pirates about Jack Wilson. It appears that the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette started this rumor. J.P.'s come out of the gates denying it:

We have no interest in Jack Wilson. Absolutely no interest in Jack Wilson. None. I have [a] Jack Wilson. I have John McDonald (a light-hitting, good defensive player).

And there we have it. Next rumor please! Josh Towers to the Phillies? He does seem more like an NL pitcher…
