Non-waiver trade deadline: 8 days, 2 hours, 7 minutes

Nationals' Young leads the pack for Comeback Player of the Year

I just love a good baseball comeback story, and the Nationals' Dmitri Young has got to be in the lead for the Comeback Player of the Year award. ESPN has a great story up right now about Young's amazing turnaround. The former Detroit Tiger is currently in third place in the NL for BA, hitting .338 with seven home runs and 36 RBIs.

It would surely make sense to move Young to a contender before the trade deadline. Switch hitting with power is a rare commodity. Where would Dmitri fit in well? I've started a new poll below that asks just this question.

BallHype: hype it up!

  1. I think it's probably between him and Griffey. Sure it's great to see Young doing so well but Griffey was a lost All-Star. He made the all century team and then it was a shame to see what happned in Cincy. Interesting poll anyway.

  3. Good point, Beeg. Griffey is having a good year (for a change) and could wind up the CPotY.

So, who do you think should acquire Dmitri? Who could use a solid switch hitter, 1B/DH, good bat but slow on the base paths?
