We can't have a tie for NL Rookie of the Year, can we?

I've been rooting for Ryan Zimmerman all season long, but Josh Barfield just pulled some impressive heroics, belting a walk-off, 3-run homer to win the opening game of the Padres series against the Colorado Rockies. Without a doubt, Barfield will be in the running for Rookie of the Year! Both Barfield and Zimmerman are putting up incredible numbers and have emerged as solid defenders. We can also count on the Brewers' Prince Fielder to garner strong support in the voting. If these impressive rookies are baseball's future, cheers!

That was a great weekend of baseball, by the way! The Nats have won 5 straight! Boomer had an impressive debut outing (but who waived him home from third?!), and even the Jays have looked strong. Too bad about Chase Utley's 10th inning HR to win it against Houston and the Rocket though!
