Thanks Vinny!

Vinny Castilla, 2005

I didn't follow the Rockies in Vinny Castilla's heyday, but I got to know him a little on the field in his sole year as a Washington National, and I loved his fierce attitude. His skills had declined in the past couple of years, so it's not surprising that Castilla retired this week after 16 seasons in the majors. We'll still get to see him in the dugout, as the manager of the Mexican team in the Caribbean League. That aggressive on-field attitude coupled with his true professionalism should make him a great manager! The Baseball Files thanks Vinny and wishes him well in his new endeavors!!
