Retro uniforms rock!

Khalil Greene, Morgan Ensberg, 08/03/06, copyright MLB.com.

They must be smoking crack over at Deadspin! Who could possibly criticize the fantastic colour schemes and designs of those retro baseball uniforms? C'mon, the Astros and Padres had some of the funkiest garb in the game back in the 70s!

Anyone have a spare Deadspin invite kicking around? I'd love to stick up for baseball fashion.

BallHype: hype it up!

  1. Hi Sam,

I love those old Astros uni's - great colour scheme.

What's the deal with the Jays? Ever since Shea Hillenbrand busted outta town they just seem to reek. All the pitchers look hurt, all the batters look bored. Never seen a club give up so fast before.

    How do you see it?

  3. I'm glad I'm not alone in my adoration of the zany 70s uni's!

I think the Jays are out. They can still make some noise and maybe spoil someone else's playoff hopes, but it's time to regroup for next season.

  5. […] (By the way, I love those old baby blue Jays uniforms like the one Frank is sporting above, but the award for best retro uniform is a tie between the Padres and Astros!) […]
