Mets announcers lacking enthusiasm

In my view, when I listen to a ballgame radio broadcast, it should be plainly obvious which team the announcers are with. In fact, I have formed my team loyalties in recent years largely based on the charisma and enthusiasm of the broadcasting team. For example, the Padres, Nationals and Astros all have announcers who go crazy on a great play. I love that. (Can I get a "Ohhh, Doctor!") Tom Cheek was an amazing announcer.

I've been listening to the New York broadcasts of the NLCS, and twice this week I thought I was listening to the St. Louis broadcast by accident! The Mets broadcasters were lacking enthusiasm on New York plays, but strangely didn't hold back from praising some of St. Louis' work on the field. What's with the Cardinal love? I want to hear these guys HOOT and HOLLER when Delgado swings that bat!

Broadcaster enthusiasm will influence which team I listen to for the World Series. I like those guys who call the Tigers' games…
