Womack finds roster spot with Cubs

Tony Womack, who signed this season with the Reds but was later released, has been selected by the Cubs. Womack signed with Triple-A Iowa earlier this month and has posted impressive numbers since, batting .467 (7-for-15) with a double, plus 3 SBs. To make room on the roster, the Cubs have optioned infielder Ryan Theriot to the Triple-A affiliate.
