Mets acquire 2 pitchers in 2 days
Omar Minaya has probably spent alot of time on the phone this week: yesterday he closed a deal that sent reliever Jorge Julio to the Diamondbacks in exchange for former Chi-Sox pitcher Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez, and today, the Mets have acquired starter Dave Williams from the Cincinnati Reds for minor leaguer Robert Manuel. Williams hasn't had a great start to this season, but the Mets are counting on the abilities he displayed last year with the Pirates (10-11 record with a 4.25 ERA in 25 starts, 88/58 strikeouts/walks ratio, and the third-best road ERA in the NL at 2.65).
