Cito Gaston returning to Toronto!

Wow, several sources are reporting that John Gibbons is about to be fired by the Blue Jays and will be replaced with longtime former manager, Cito Gaston (who won two World Series while managing the club from 1989 to '97)!

Will Gaston be suited up for this weekend's series in Pittsburgh?

BallHype: hype it up!

  1. So, Sam, what do you think about Cito coming back? I was sorry to see Ernie Whitt go (but not sorry to see Gibbons go.) I always thought it was suspicious that Cito couldn't get a job after 2 World Series wins but I never thought he would be back with the Jays.

  3. Cito's got an uphill battle. I just don't think the Jays are a strong enough team. That being said, I certainly think Cito will be a positive force, and am thrilled to see Gibbons out. He seemed to be a negative presence in the dugout, with an ever-present potential to explode. That episode with Ted Lilly last year sealed my opinion of him and I'd been waiting for him to get the boot.

Next up, J.P's gotta move on. He's had his chances but has not produced. It's time for new blood in Toronto.
