Guzman elects for season-ending surgery
Nationals' shortstop Christian Guzman has elected to have season-ending shoulder surgery after experiencing pain during a rehab game earlier today. Royce Clayton managed to usurp the incumbent again!
UPDATE: It appears I was mistaken about the rehab game part of this news. MLB.com is reporting that Guzman canceled an infield session that was to take place before manager Frank Robinson. Instead, he'll have shoulder surgery in Cincinnati on Monday.
