What went wrong?

CBC.ca has an interesting baseball piece up on their website today where they take a look at a few teams that probably should have been contenders this season–the Red Sox, Braves, Jays, Angels, and Astros–and goes as far as pointing fingers at each teams' catalysts of demise. I can't say I'm opposed to anything in the article, but … Read more »

Dodgers smack 4 consecutive homers in the 9th to tie it!

This Padres - Dodgers series has been amazing, but I'm not sure there's been a more spectacular inning than the bottom of the 9th tonight! The Padres were leading 9-5 going to the bottom frame, and the Dodgers just hit 4 consecutive home runs in a row, two off Trevor Hoffman. Unbelievable! Pandemonium at Dodger Stadium! We're going to extra … Read more »

We can't have a tie for NL Rookie of the Year, can we?

I've been rooting for Ryan Zimmerman all season long, but Josh Barfield just pulled some impressive heroics, belting a walk-off, 3-run homer to win the opening game of the Padres series against the Colorado Rockies. Nationals deal Anderson to Dodgers

The Nationals made another last minute waiver deal, sending IF Marlon Anderson and cash to the Dodgers for RHP Jhonny Nunez. Anderson has proven a useful utility player this year, but I'm happy to see the team focus on acquiring pitching, and Nunez is an intriguing player. With the Gulf Coast Dodgers this season, he's 6-0 … Read more »

Daryle Ward traded to Atlanta, Nevin is a Twin

I'm a little sad to see Daryle Ward leaving Washington. I had high hopes for him when he was signed in the off-season, and I'd say he delivered mightily off the bench this year for the Nats. Dependable Daryle! The Braves are keeping their Wild Card hopes alive will use the left-handed batter in clutch situations versus right-handed … Read more »
